Note from the Chair, Andrew Sinclair:
“Welcome to the first Girvan and South Carrick update and the great news that we can confirm a drop-in consultation day on the designs for the new multi-faceted facility on Tuesday 27 November.
I know this has been a long time coming, but together South Carrick Community Leisure and South Ayrshire Council are working to ensure we come up with a new facility that will do exactly what we need it to for our communities and our people and – more importantly – that will continue to do that for a very long time.
There’s been a huge amount of work going on behind the scenes and things are gearing up to full steam ahead, which is great news for everyone in Girvan and South Carrick. While we will always keep our focus on the new harbour-side facility, we’ve always said this is about a much bigger picture for the town.
I’m sure when you read this update, you will have a much better idea of the progress that’s been made not just in terms of a new leisure and community facility, but also the wider regeneration of our town and the surrounding areas.
It really is an exciting time for Girvan and South Carrick and, on behalf of South Carrick Community Leisure, I can assure you that we will continue to work closely with the Council and the other parties involved to ensure we deliver the best possible outcomes for the people of Girvan and South Carrick.
That’s what matters and that’s what we will deliver.”
