28 residents of Pinwherry and Pinmore attended a meeting to hear about their new community centre. Those present chose the above name, entered by Mrs Grace Dunlop, as the winning entry in a competition to find a name for the new centre.
Thanks to grant funding from Carrick Futures and Hadyard Hill a lead contractor has begun work on plans and assessing the land to see if it is suitable for the building, prior to negotiating the purchase of the site.
Once the new community company own the site a meeting will be arranged to show residents the proposed outline development plans for the centre before detailed drawings are commissioned.
