Pinwherry School Buildings

The Pinwherry and Pinmore Community Developments Association are currently carrying out research into Pinwherry Primary School and would like to invite you to an afternoon tea to meet with other ex-school members. On Saturday 27th February 2016 from 2pm to 4pm.

The Association are looking into the schools background to capture its unique Heritage and History.

Do you have any photographs, records that you could bring along and to meet with other ex-pupils?

Now that the primary school lies empty since its closure in 2011, Pinwherry Community Development Association have agreed to take over the old buildings with the intention of converting them into Holiday Accommodation

The Community wish and Vision.

When Pinwherry Primary School closed the local community requested Pinwherry and Pinmore Community Council explore what could be done with the redundant buildings. Community Council obtained funding to engage external consultants McKenzie Wilson to look at the possibility of turning the buildings into a bunkhouse.

On the basis of this report the Community Council who cannot own property has passed this project on to Pinwherry and Pinmore Community Development Association. (PPCDA)

The PPCDA have been working with Architects Austin Smith Lord on plans to convert the buildings into three separate full self-contained units. All accommodation will have its own kitchen, lounge, shower, and bedroom, and induvial heated, there will be a single bedroom unit, a two bedded unit and a 4 bed unit

The PPCDA are now in discussions with South Ayrshire Council on how the community can take over and convert the old school buildings.

Please take this opportunity of assisting us in compiling a unique Heritage and History of the School.

Yours sincerely,
