On the weekend of the 13th and 14th September the 2 Pins community company will be holding a community event on the site of the proposed new 2 Pins Centre on main Street in Pinwherry. The celebration will mark the year of the communities’ success in gaining the grants to purchase of the site, and the start of pre-construction work.

In January the grant funding from Hadyard Hill Community Benefit Fund, Carrick Futures and The Lendal Trust enabled the community to buy the site and a tree was planted by the South Ayrshire Provost to mark the occasion. Funding from South Ayrshire Council Rural Fund and Community Fund enabled the 2 Pins Company to cover legal expenses and insurance and of late funding from South Ayrshire Waste & Environmental Trust (SAWAT) has enabled the start of the drainage work and provided a temporary car park.

“Over the last year the community have worked with our appointed Architects Austin Smith- Lord on designing a building that will meet the communities current and future generation’s needs”. The 2 Pins Community Company have successfully reached stage 2 in a bid to the Big Lottery Growing Community Assets and £20,000 of development funding has been granted by the Big Lottery to enable the community to engage external experts to work on the next stage of our bid.
