Pinwherry & Pinmore Community Council asked South Ayrshire Council to arrange for road closure notices to indicate exactly where any closure is and also pointed out that it was unacceptable to have public toilets closed in Girvan during the lantern parade and other events.
The following message has been received from Councillor Alec Oattes:
“I met with Mike Newall (Head of Planning and Enterprise) yesterday (27th November) and discussed the issue of poor information on road closure signs. I can tell you he undertook to have this remedied in the future and has passed it on to the roads manager Kevin Braidwood for action.
I can also inform you I have spoken to the local facilities manager for Girvan and the Community Centre and toilets will be open for use, the public toilets at the Flushes will remain open until 21.30, and the Harbour Bar comfort zone is also available for the Street Party revellers after the Xmas Lights Switch on. I trust this helpful.
Regards and best wishes, Councillor Alec Oattes.”
